DIED.
At South Brisbane, on the 23rd instant, after a short but severe illness, which she endured with the most exemplary meekness and fortitude, Alice Catherine, eldest daughter of Mr. William Wilkes, aged five years, three months, and nineteen days. Her natural intelligence and amiability of disposition had gained her the love of all who knew her in life, and her early death has inspired feelings of the most bitter regret.
