DEATHS.
On the 31st July, at Brisbane, New South Wales, whither he went for the benefit of his health, Edward Rice Thomas, fourth son of Jocelyn Thomas, Esquire, of North Down, Port Sorell, deeply lamented by his family, and much regretted by his friends and acquaintance, whose great consolation is, that he died the death of the righteous, in the faith of his Saviour Jesus Christ.

One of the earliest graves is that of Edward Roe Thomas, fourth son of Jocelyn Thomas. Esq., of Van Diemen's Land, who died a July 31, 1853, aged 32. The stone assures us that “he died in the Christian faith, a firm believer in his Saviour” His father was careful to have the “Esquire" on the tombstone.
