DEATH. On the 17th instant, at his residence, Edward-street, Brisbane, Mr. Ralph Black (father of Miss Mary Black, of this town), aged 41 years.
FUNERAL — The Friends of the late Mr. RALPH BLACK are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral, to move from his late residence, Paisley Boarding House, Edward-street, THIS DAY (Monday), at 4 o'clock p.m. G. B. PETRIE, Undertaker.
An enquiry was held yesterday at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Edward-street, into the circumstances which produced the death of Mr. Ralph Black, of the Paisley boarding house. The inquiry was conducted by Dr. Cannon, coroner. From the evidence adduced it appeared that the deceased had gone into his stable on Friday night last, accompanied by his wife for the purpose of attending to some horses when one of them throw up his hind feet, kicking the deceased and knocking him down. The deceased stood up again leaning against a post, and said "I am done for." On the following day Dr. Emmelhein was sent for, who prescribed for him, pronouncing him dangerously hurt. Deceased gradually got worse, and died about half-past two on Sunday afternoon. In accordance with the evidence the jury brought in a verdict of "Accidently killed by being kicked by a horse."
